GREECE, N.Y. — Greece police say an officer was hurt when a pair of alleged shoplifters hit the officer with their car at the Mall at Greece Ridge.

Investigators say the injured officer was trying to take the larceny suspects into custody at the time of the incident. According to the department, the suspects tried to flee the scene, hitting the officer in the process. 

One of the suspects is in police custody, however, the second got away. 

The injured officer was taken to the hospital for treatment of what are described as non-life threatening injuries.
