A rally is being held tonight at the historic Stonewall Inn to support the transgender community's fight for equality. The demonstration comes after President Trump reversed President Obama's guidelines allowing students in public schools to use bathrooms and locker rooms of the gender they identify with. Individual states can now issue guidelines on what's discriminatory and what's not when it comes to transgender bathroom use.
Earlier today, a protest over President Trump's immigration policies resulted in several arrests at a New Jersey ICE detention center. Demonstrators called on the federal government to release undocumented immigrants who were recently detained and expressed concerns about mass deportations. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said today there will be no military use while enforcing Trump's crackdown, contradicting the president's comments just hours earlier.

President Trump is facing a lot more resistance than I think even he planned for. Just today alone, we had civil engagement by New Yorkers over his immigration, transgender and healthcare policies. It will be interesting to see if our citizens will continue to stay this involved throughout his presidency. Your thoughts below.

The undocumented immigrants that are criminals don't belong in this country at all, they should be booted out of America by the military.... The undocumented immigrants that are here illegally should be given a chance to become American citizens, some of the illegals are good people, they came here to get a better life in America, we should give them that chance. God made Adam and Eve, the men and boys use the men and boys room and the women and girls use the women's and girls room. I will be in the minority but here goes.
What about a separate bathroom for anyone who is transgender.
I am against bullying in any shape or form and this is matter is no exception.
The issue some folks have with using the bathroom "/ locker rooms" you identify with" is that it opens the door for abuse. If my young daughter is changing in a locker room she may not be ready to see a naked person of opposite sex.
Also if a person is not genuinely trans gender he would have access to opposite sex bathrooms and the people in it.
This is factor.
I feel this is a sensible solution, there are indeed still differences between men and women.
As for the undocumented immigrants who are not here legally, we are talking millions of people. murderer, have killed someone in a hit and run, a gang member, or convicted of any crime, scamming our social services then yes you should be deported-and not be protected by a sanctuary city.
You are not guaranteed due process bc you're not a citizen.
Citizenship means something, is a privilege, something that is earned.
Yes most of us are descended from immigrants, but they were legal, there were quotas & limits so USA did not get overwhelmed with costs for them and create higher taxes for those of us who work.
I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I will tell you I speak for many who feel that politicians go to great lengths to accommodate undocumented folks while there are no resources for available for poor/working poor Americans.
I continue to pray for a peaceful resolution to these problems but prayers aren't wanted- just violent protesters the likes of which I have never seen.
Burning our American flag as a form of protest while here illegally is outrageous.

No, I DON'T want to see the Trump administration use the military to deport undocumented immigrants, but the more the mainstream media is against everything he's doing and encouraging protests against him, it's looking more and more that he's being given no choice, BUT to use them! It's called MARTIAL LAW!! The results of Martial Law IS VERY UGLY!! I know, because we came close to having Martial Law implemented in the mid to late 1960's stemming from the effects of the Watt's riots and a teachers' strike! My late mother(God rest her soul) came so close to being a victim, with my younger brother, then an infant, in tow on her way to a health center. A protester hurl a brick, nearly missed hitting her!! Handing over my brother to a passerby, she picked up the brick and with it, entered the health center and told the police stationed there, what nearly happened. Those involved, were immediately arrested!! My mother DIDN'T know it then, but later found out what this was! I was a young child when this happened! Is this what the mainstream media and those against the Trump administration want happening because they're not getting their way!? Ask yourselves that!!!
As per the bathroom issue, transgendered individuals if they were born a male, should use the mens bathrooms. If they were born women, use the womens bathrooms! They shouldn't be given accommodations!! If they don't like it, wear adult diapers/pull-ons!!

I'm a Democrat, however our gender is given at birth. Whatever we have in between our legs, that's our gender. If anyone has different orientation doesn't change their gender.

Sex is biological and gender is social. It seems like transgender bathrooms are not 100% socially acceptable in the U.S, that is the problem.

Hans nailed it before on transgender rights. The problem with allowing states decide on the bathroom issue is that those states less open to trans individuals will remain in their ignorance by lack of familiarity and exposure. It's relevant that we would never have desegregated schools if we simply allowed states to make the choice in accordance with the majority of their constituents. Sometimes tolerance can only happen by necessity. Finally, often people will argue that allowing trans individuals to use the bathroom of the gender with which they identify will result in sexual predators lying to take advantage of children; this has never been proven, and I find it ironic that the man in charge of this administration used to walk through the changing rooms of teenage pageant contestants and brag about it.

Its OK for his wife who is white and other white immigrants to find legal ways to get into the country.
