The new sex comedy “The Overnight” debuts On Demand this weekend. It stars Adam Scott, Taylor Schilling and Jason Schwartzman. Time Warner Cable News film critic Neil Rosen filed the following review.

Witty, sex comedies are a difficult commodity to find. That is why the new film 'The Overnight,' which comes On Demand this weekend, is such a pleasant, welcome surprise.

Adam Scott and Taylor Schilling play Alex and Emily, a nice married couple who've just moved to L.A. from Seattle with their young son. At their new local playground, they run into Kurt, played by Jason Schwartzman. Since their two kids seem to be getting along, Kurt extends a friendly, seemingly innocent invitation to pizza night.

Looking to make new friends, Alex and Emily decide to accept Kurt's gracious offer. But what develops over the course of a long evening is wacky, unexpected and downright hilarious. It seems that Kurt and his French wife Charlotte may or may not be swingers. Alex and Emily are initially clueless to this other couple's offbeat behavior, although from the start, the evening is littered with clues.

After a while, Emily does start to realize something is not exactly right.

Writer/director Patrick Brice has made a wacky, witty and very funny sex romp. The unpredictable, and at times jaw dropping film, is full of uproarious, unexpected surprises.

Schwartzman is letter-perfect here, playing this bizarre, seductive guy and it's one of the funniest things he's ever done. Adam Scott is perfect playing the comic foil in a courageous role, while Taylor Schilling shines.

I'll let you know that there's a lot of full frontal male nudity, a screwball sex-oriented art collection, an unconventional side trip to a liquor store, and it all sort of works well.

Overall, it's a bawdy, quirky "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice" for the new millennium and I highly recommend it.

"The Overnight" played briefly in theatres a couple of months ago. If you missed it then, here's a great opportunity to see it On Demand.
