We are about to enter the overeating time of year so, as a bit of a preemptive strike, here are some new fitness apps to help you offset those calories.

Beachbody on Demand

Beachbody on Demand isn’t necessarily new. It gives you access to hundreds of workouts from the folks most known for P90X. What is different now though, there are some Apple Watch integration. You can stop and start workouts right there on your wrist, but what’s perhaps more useful -  if you’re streaming workouts to your TV those key heart rate and calories burned metrics being pulled off your watch get thrown right up there on screen.

“This technology right now, where you see the heart rate and calories burned, it’s a form of motivation right? So in the old days you’d have to kind count how many heart beats and hope that you’re not overtraining. What this allows a person to do is get better more rapidly," says Tony Horton of Beach Body.

The Beachbody on Demand app, which is right now just for iOS devices, is a free download through then requires a $15 monthly subscription.

Huawei Fit

If you are still in the market though for a wearable to help with fitness, the Huawei Fit might warrant a look, in particular if you feel like training for a marathon. It tracks all sorts of fitness metrics no matter what exercise you’re doing - steps, calories, heart rate, etc. - but through its companion app it can recommend for you based on the data it's collecting specifically on you, how you should go about training for a marathon.

"Based on what your age is and what your gender is and based on your regular exercise patterns and then give you something that's suitable for you, Everybody is different," says Clay Wang of Huawei USA

The Huawei Fit, which works with both iOS and Android devices, is out now for $130.
