New Jersey Transit is hoping to have service almost completely restored next week for the first time since Hurricane Sandy.

Officials say they expect 94 percent of the railway to be up and running on Monday.

Some 300 rail cars and locomotives had been damaged.

Metro-North also says it will be running all of its trains west of the Hudson River starting Monday.

The service will be restored to seven trains on the Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines.

Some Port Jervis Line trains will continue to make stops in New Jersey to support New Jersey Transit's recovery efforts.
