Englewood Mayor Frank Huttle has partnered with Bergen County's Center for Food Action to hold a food drive throughout August.
A yellow bin has been set up at the front entrance of Englewood's City Hall for donations of canned tuna fish, peanut butter, powdered milk and hearty soups.
Jennifer Rothman, Communications Director for the Center for Food Action, said a recent increase in demand has left them struggling to keep their pantry full.
“Per month, we are up at all of our sites. We are up 2,200 people from the last four years at this same time so we are looking at those numbers and being very concerned with what that means going forward,” Rothman said.
Donations will be accepted at City Hall until August 31.
