The Port Authority's so-called Helix Fix will close the lanes weekdays from 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Lanes will also be closed on Saturdays from 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. and Sundays from 1 a.m. until 9 a.m.

Traffic is being detoured off the roadway onto local streets during the closures.

The work is expected to create a smoother driving surface and reduce future delays for periodic maintenance.

Construction is expected to last through late next summer.
