SPECIAL WEATHER DISCUSSION
A slow moving cold front is approaching the city today through tonight. Ahead of it, multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms expected. Some of the storms could include, heavy rains, strong winds, dangerous lightning. The worst of the weather is expected to hit this evening and into tonight as the cold front passes through. More rain is likely tomorrow as the front stalls just to our east while an area of low pressure travels up the coast.
Flooding on streets and roads is possible, especially in any heavier sustained downpours. Up to 1" of rain may fall very quickly in any downpours. Travel and commuter delays will likely increase as the day goes on. Allow extra travel time this afternoon and evening.
EXTENDED OUTLOOK:
It will be a much cooler and unsettled Memorial Day Weekend than previous years. Last year we hit the 80s all three days. This year we will be stuck in the 60s with showers likely on Saturday and lingering clouds on Sunday. Monday will be brighter and slightly warmer with highs in the 67-70 range. Warming up to near 80 by the middle of next week.
