Veterans who live on Staten Island are now getting free bus transfers so they can get the health care they need.

Starting Monday, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is adding a free transfer to the B70 bus from the S53 to help veterans get to the Brooklyn Veterans Affairs Hospital.

The free transfers are temporary and will be lifted once the Manhattan VA Hospital reopens.
