Residents of the Rockaways are getting some extra time to make their bus and subway transfers.
Governor Andrew Cuomo says the Metropolitan Transportation Authority will extend the free transfer window to three hours for some bus routes on the peninsula.
The policy is designed to prevent people from paying double fares because they can't make their transfer in time.
The three-hour transfer rule will start this week and apply between any subway stop and the Q22, Q113, N31, N32 and N33 bus routes.
The MTA says the transfer policy will stay in effect until A train service is fully restored to the peninsula.
Special transfers are also available from the Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College and the Rockaway Boulevard stations.
