The transit advocacy group says both lines inch their way across Manhattan at just 3.9 miles per hour at noon on a weekday.

That's slower than an amusement park bumper car, which can go 4.3 miles per hour.

The M42 is no stranger to the Pokey, as it took the golden snail in 2009 and 2010.

M66 straphangers NY1 spoke with said slow buses are just a way of life.

"To run a system that supposedly is going to be on schedule on the surface of Manhattan is, like, next to impossible," said one.

"I don't know, it's about as slow as all the rest of the buses in New York City," said another. "They're all slow."

The MTA said construction on the M42 and M66 routes are causing more delays than usual.

Officials said they're working with the City to create and enforce dedicated bus lanes to speed up systemwide service.

Meanwhile, the Schleppie Award for least reliable bus went to the M4, which goes from Fort Tryon Park in Upper Manhattan to Penn Station.

The Straphangers Campaign said nearly 30 percent of M4 buses arrive with big gaps in service or bunched together.
