The Long Island Rail Road will operate full morning and evening rush hour service Monday for the first time since Hurricane Sandy hit, according to Governor Andrew Cuomo.
The move comes after Amtrak restored the signal system in one of its two flood-damaged East River tunnels.
The governor said the second tunnel signal system is expected to be restored to full capacity in time for Christmas.
