A pro-Israeli group is one step closer to being able to post its ads on city buses.

A federal judge ruled the Metropolitan Transportation Authority should not have rejected ads by the American Freedom Defense Initiative.

The ads call enemies of Israel "savages."

Transit officials turned down the ads, saying they violated the agency's defamation policy.

But the group said the MTA infringed on its freedom of speech and went to court.

They are applauding the judge's decision.

MTA officials say they're reviewing the decision.
