A conservative Christian group that helped defeat the same-sex marriage bill in California has launched an advertisement campaign in New York State.
"Think same sex marriage doesn't affect you family? Legalizing gay marriage has consequences for kids," says the ad.
The commercial suggests children will be taught about homosexuality in schools and it says the rights of people who believe a marriage means a man and a woman will no longer matter.
The advertisement is scheduled to air today through the end of the month in the city, on Long Island, and upstate.
Meanwhile, the Empire State Pride Organization released its second pro gay marriage ad earlier this week. It's airing only in upstate markets.
The ads come as the fate of a bill legalizing same-sex marriage in New York remains uncertain. The State Assembly has already passed the bill, but the State Senate has yet to take it up.
