Beginning Saturday, baseball fans will be able to take Metro-North straight to the new Yankee Stadium when a new train station opens at East 153rd Street.
The new Metro-North station was dedicated Thursday.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg says besides making it easier for fans to leave their cars at home, the station will also provide a new transportation option for the South Bronx.
The mayor was joined at the ceremony by several past and present Yankees including catcher Jorge Posada and former pitcher David Cone.
The $91 million station took two years to build.
