Jurors continued their deliberations Wednesday in the murder trial of Janet Mercereau, who is accused of shooting her fire marshal husband Douglas as he slept in their Staten Island home in December 2007.
The jury was sent home Tuesday after jurors told the judge they needed a break.
The panel wanted another explanation of the charges and how to interpret them.
They also had questions regarding DNA and other evidence.
Mercereau is accused of shooting her husband Douglas in December 2007, while he slept in their home.
Investigators say he was killed with his own gun.
Mercereau has maintained she had nothing to do with the killing and did not hear any gunshots because she was sleeping with earplugs.
