A four-story building in Manhattan's Chinatown became a pile of rubble Friday afternoon after a four-alarm fire tore through it the previous night.
Flames broke out shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday in the building at East Broadway and Pike Street.
The New York City Fire Department says the fire spread through a grocery store on the ground floor and into the apartments above.
Firemen were able to get the flames under control around 2 a.m.
Seven firefighters had minor injuries and residents were hurt.
As of late Friday, investigators were still looking into the cause of the fire.
