Families took to the streets of Mott Haven, Bronx on Saturday for a somber march to end gun violence.
Mothers and children carried pictures of those who have died.
The marchers called for tougher gun laws across the country and took aim at weapons sold at gun shows.
"I think one of the biggest problems is that 32 states in our country have no background check at gun shows and we know that 285 million guns are in circulation in the country, and 40 percent of those are sold at gun shows," said one marcher. "That opportunity for illegal weapons to enter into the wrong hands is just too great of an opportunity. We need to close that gun show loophole at the federal level."
Organizers also reminded mothers and families of victims of gun violence about support groups available to help cope with losses.
