In Mexico City, people are trying to get back to their normal lives Saturday, even as many places remain shut down due to the H1N1 flu outbreak.
In the popular shopping district of Zona Rosa in Mexico City, people enjoyed the bright sunshine but few private businesses remained open. The government ordered for nonessential government offices to remain closed and some businesses that remained open received fines.
Business owners have lost much money in the last few days, and many workers who were forced out of work are not receiving sick days or other compensation.
Yet in a city of more than 20 million, the 16 fatalities from the flu outbreak makes the flu pandemic's threat seem very minor to Mexico City's residents.
