"America's Most Watched Preacher" visited with community leaders in the Bronx Wednesday as he prepares to make his big debut this weekend at the new Yankee Stadium.
Pastor Joel Osteen met with elected officials as well as other members of the clergy for a luncheon at the Eastwood Manor in Williamsbridge.
They met to discuss ways to better serve people in need, especially those who have recently lost their homes or jobs because of the faltering economy.
Osteen says no matter how bleak things look, there is always room for hope.
"We know that God is still in control. He's got a great plan for each of our lives. You know, we believe everything is just a season. We'll come through a difficult season -- through winter into spring and into summer. So, we believe there are good days ahead, not just for our nation but for each of us individually," said Osteen.
Thousands are expect to attend Osteen's stadium service this Saturday.
