The F train got a little longer Wednesday night, as transit officials try to figure out a way to make the cramped subway line roomier.
New York City Transit ran a test overnight of an F train with an 11th car attached.
The train normally has just 10 cars.
Transit officials want to see how the longer train will be accommodated by signals and stations. If trains cannot be safely run closer together, capacity can be increased with the extra car.
The test was done without passengers for planning purposes.
