A judge ruled Monday that two sets of charges against Former NYPD Commissioner Bernard Kerik will be handled in two separate trials.
Kerik faces corruption and tax charges, issues which were first brought up when he was nominated to head up the Department of Homeland Security.
He later took himself out of the running for the job.
A wire fraud charge against Kerik was dismissed by the judge, because the statute of limitations expired.
The corruption case is set to begin on October 13th.
No date has been set for the other trial.
