The Department of Buildings has issued a stop work order and several violations at a construction site where a worker fell to his death Wednesday.
The incident happened at 28th Street and Park Avenue South just before 11 a.m.
Police say the worker fell from the ninth floor of one building, and landed on top of scaffolding at an adjacent building.
The 28-year-old was taken to Bellevue Hospital in cardiac arrest, where he was later pronounced dead.
The DOB issued eight violations to Levine Builders, including failure to provide adequate guardrails, safety netting and overhead protection.
Five companies, including Levine, are also being cited for failing to safeguard the public.
