The woman who was shot in the stomach by an arrow in the Bronx over the weekend opened up to the media Tuesday.

Denise Delgado Brown, 50, is recovering at St. Barnabus Hospital.

She was struck by an arrow on Sunday, as she was dropping off churchgoers at an assisted living center on Independence Avenue in Riverdale.

Brown says she was shocked and does not understand why anyone would do this.

"I went to touch it and I was going to pull it out of me at first, but it was stuck really deep in my chest. So I didn't do anything. People started coming around to look," she said.

Police say the arrow is the type used for practice or hunting. They believe it was an accident.

No arrests have been made.
