The Port Authority says construction at the World Trade Center site will provide a multi-billion dollar boost to the city's economy.

It's a $14.5 billion boost, according to the agency's economic stimulus study.

Agency officials also say more than 26,000 direct jobs will be created, including construction and engineering.

They add when you factor in the indirect jobs, the number jumps to more than 62,000.

"A project of this size has just tremendous ripple effects out into the economy with secondary suppliers, even restaurants, people providing food, courier service. A job of this size affects probably all aspects of the New York City economy," said Port Authority Executive Director Chris Ward.

The Port Authority also gave an update on the construction of One World Trade Center.

They say it now stands 105 feet above street level, the equivalent of a nine-story building.
