Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer is considering challenging Senator Kirsten Gillibrand in a Democratic primary next year.
A source close to Stringer tells NY1 that the borough president is exploring running against Gillibrand, who was appointed to her job by Governor Paterson this January after Hillary Clinton became Secretary of State.
Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer will be a guest on Thursday's "Road to City Hall" at 7 p.m.
Gillibrand was formerly an upstate Congresswoman who was sworn in 2007. Stringer, a former state Assemblyman, has been borough president since 2006.
Other Democrats who are said to be considering challenging Gillibrand in a primary include Long Island Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy and Manhattan Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney.
