The city is reminding New Yorkers to clean up snow left over from this week's storm.
The Department of Buildings says property owners should safely remove any ice or snow from buildings.
They say melting snow can damage the building's structural integrity and that cold temperatures could create a safety hazard in the form of icicles.
Property owners are advised to clear ice and snow from public areas and from building roofs and overhangs.
They also say to clean out roof drains and gutters so the water drains properly.
To report any buildings in violation, call 311.
