The prosecution rested its case Monday in the trial of two people charged in the deadly shooting of an orthodontist in Queens.
Prosecutors say Doctor Mazoltuv Borukhova and her uncle, Mikhail Mallayev, worked together to kill Burukhova's husband.
Both are being tried on murder and conspiracy charges in the death of Orthodontist Daniel Malakov.
He was gunned down in a Forest Hills playground in 2007 in front of the couple's four-year-old daughter, who was at the center of a custody battle.
The prosecution says Borukhova was angry after losing custody of their daughter and paid her uncle $20,000 to kill her husband.
