Police are looking for the person who shot two women in Brooklyn Wednesday, killing one and sending the other to the hospital.

Investigators say it happened around 12:45 p.m. at Jerome Street and Linden Boulevard in East New York.

Police sources identify the fatal shooting victim as Janette Martinez, 22.

Keila Ocasio, 20, was wounded and is said to be in critical condition at Brookdale Hospital.

Police sources say the shooter may have been the boyfriend of a woman Martinez was fighting with.

"There was six shots, two over there and four over there in the middle of street," said one resident.

"I couldn't believe it. I didn't know if it was a car backfiring and then when I heard that little crash I thought, oh, maybe it was something," said another resident.

No arrests have been made.
