Voters in Queens have chosen two new City Council members, while a third race on Staten Island remains too close to call.
Ken Mitchell is holding a slight lead over Deborah Rose, with 100 percent of precincts reporting, in the race for the 49th District City Council seat.
Mitchell has already declared victory; however, the latest tally has him up by only 91 votes – 4128 to 4037.
There are still 395 absentee ballots returned that need to be counted. They will not be counted for a week.
Meanwhile, in Queens, Julissa Ferreras won the race to fill the seat in the 21st Council District, vacated by Hiram Monserrate.
Ferreras was Monserrate's chief of staff.
Eric Ulrich has been elected by voters in District 32. He will fill the seat formerly held by Joseph Addabbo.
Urlich and Ferreras will be sworn-in next month, after the Board of Election certifies the results.
Both Monserrate and Addabbo were elected to the State Senate last fall.
The winners will face a party primary in September, and then a general election in November.
