Eight candidates are facing off Tuesday in a special election for two vacant City Council seats in Queens.

The winners will serve on the council for the remainder of this term – which ends in January.

The elections are being held in the 21st Council District, to replace Hiram Monserrate, and in the 32nd District, where the winner will replace Joseph Addabbo.

Both men were elected to the State Senate last fall.

Many voters in the 32nd District say they are still undecided.

"Still haven't made up my mind, but I do plan on voting on Tuesday," said one Queens resident.

"I'm voting, but I don't know who I'm voting for," said another.

"I'm very interested in what's going on in Queens and my local community, but I usually just vote in the presidential elections only," said a third.

A special election is also set for District 49 on Staten Island's North Shore, where voters will be looking to fill Michael McMahon's council seat.

McMahon was elected to Congress last fall.

Winning candidates in the special election will have to be re-elected in the general elections in November to serve a full term.
