The police officer caught on tape knocking a cyclist to the ground has been taken off the force.
The New York City Police Department says Patrick Pogan, 23, was dismissed last week.
He was suspended last year after pleading not guilty to charges of filing a false report.
Pogan's lawyer says his client resigned and expects to be vindicated at trial.
He is accused of body-checking cyclist Christopher Long to the ground without justification during a monthly Critical Mass bike ride last July.
Pogan arrested Long, saying the cyclist blocked traffic and steered toward him. But those charges were dismissed after a video showing the incident appeared on YouTube.
