More than 20 couples spent Valentine's Day helping Habitat for Humanity build homes in Brownsville, Brooklyn.

When the work is all finished, 41 families will move into their new homes.

"We decided to take advantage of the goodwill around the Valentine's Day holiday and have people do some community service, instead of maybe going to a restaurant or some other kind of traditional Valentine's Day activities and the response we got was pretty amazing," said Habitat for Humanity NYC Executive Director Josh Lockwood.

Habitat for Humanity officials say the Brooklyn project is the largest single project in America.

The apartments are scheduled to open this summer.
