Federal investigators say there's physical evidence that shows birds played a role in the emergency landing of US Airways flight 1549 in the Hudson.

Bird remains have been found in both of the planes engines. They're now being shipped off to the Smithsonian to determine the species.

It was nearly three weeks ago that the plane's pilot reported engine failure after an encounter with geese shortly after take off from LaGuardia Airport.

All 155 people aboard survived after he set the plane down on the Hudson.
