The city's Department of Education has teamed up with ESPN to create the city's first high school dedicated to sports business.

The Business of Sports School is set to open in Midtown this September – with a class of 81 ninth-graders.

Students will incorporate real-world skills through mandatory internships with sports companies like ESPN the Magazine and ABC Sports. The curriculum will also include core classes like English and math.

ESPN the Magazine will contribute to the curriculum and provide volunteer-based support.

The new school is part of the mayor's push to modernize vocational or trade schools around the city.
