A second victim in a hit-and-run accident in Queens has died as charges pend against the driver involved. NY1's Amanda Farinacci filed the following report.

Brendan Ogle says the last thing his 16-year-old son Robert told him before leaving the house Saturday night was that he worried too much. Hours later, Brendan got word that his son had been killed by a hit-and-run driver.

"There's a word to describe a widow, there's a word to describe an orphan or a widower, but there's no word to describe a parent that lost a child. I don't know how to process it," said Ogle.

Robert had been at the movies and a party with friends. His parents became worried when he didn't come home on time, and even called the police. Early Sunday morning, detectives came to their home to tell them their son was dead.

Police say Robert and another 20-year-old man, Alex Paul, were hit shortly before 1:30 a.m. at Eliot Avenue and 80th Street in Middle Village, not far from the Ogle home.

"He was walking home, probably, it's about three blocks up. It can be a fast intersection," said Ogle.

Robert was pronounced dead at the scene. Paul later died at Elmhurst Hospital.

A 27-year-old man was later arrested a few blocks away at Dry Harbor Road and Woodhaven Boulevard. Police say the suspect had stolen the car from outside a nearby deli.

"It hasn't sunk in yet, the worst of it hasn't passed," said Ogle.

His father describes Robert as a smart, popular student at Brooklyn Tech High School, where his mother also teaches. Now the family is in mourning as police build a criminal case against the driver.
