The happiest residents live in Queens.

According to a five-borough survey released today by the Citizens Committee for New York City, 51 percent of Queens residents say they are very satisfied with their quality of life.

Staten Island came in second with 41 percent, followed by Manhattan and Brooklyn. The Bronx came in last.

Queens residents cited the borough's rich diversity, community feel, safety, and wide variety of cuisines.

"Right here in Forest Hills, we've got great shopping, phenomenal housing, and I think everyone overall is really upbeat," said one Queens resident.

"I like Queens because it's a little bit safer than other boroughs," said another.

"There's a big diversity of cultures here," said a third. "Everywhere you go there are all kinds of languages, different people. It's like going around the world in a way, but only being a few blocks from your house."

Queens residents also ranked the highest of all boroughs for friendliness.

About 4,400 people from all five boroughs took part in the survey.
