Lawmakers and residents of one Brooklyn community called for more police presence Friday, a day after a woman was sexually assaulted.

Police say the 30-year-old woman was raped Thursday morning near Saint Felix Street in Fort Greene.

Residents say the victim was a doctor on her way to Brooklyn Hospital, where she was later treated.

Community members are demanding more police presence at all hours and an increase of recruits at their precinct.

"I would love to see more police cars here," said one Fort Greene resident. I would love to see foot patrol men. I would love to see more of the cadets that they're trying to get rid of."

"It could have been a child, one of my or anyone's daughters," said another. "It could even be our sons."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-577-TIPS, by texting TIP577 to CRIMES, or by going to NYPDCrimeStoppers.com.
