A federal grand jury is said to be investigating Roger Clemens and whether he lied under oath to Congress about his alleged steroid use.
The Associated Press cites two people who've been briefed on the matter, but want to remain anonymous.
Grand Jury proceedings are supposed to be secret.
Last February, the former Yankee told a house committee he never took performance enhancing drugs. That contradicted his former trainer's claim that he injected Clemens with steroids and human growth hormone numerous times.
The FBI was asked to investigate by members of congress.
