One teenager pleaded guilty and another was released on bail Thursday in connection with a string of alleged election night hate crimes on Staten Island.
Bryan Garaventa, 18, pleaded guilty to federal charges of interfering with voting rights.
He and three other young men are suspected of beating up African-Americans and a Muslim teenager after Barack Obama was elected president.
The other three pleaded not guilty to federal hate crime charges. One of them, Michael Contreras, 18, was released on $200,000 bond Thursday.
He has been put under house arrest.
In the most serious of the alleged attacks, the group allegedly beat up 17-year-old Ali Kamara while yelling Obama's name.
The terms of Garaventa's plea deal were not disclosed, but he and the other suspects all face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
