Investigators are looking into the cause of a two-alarm fire that injured two firefighters and three residents of a Bronx apartment building Friday.
The fire began around 3:30 a.m. at a building on Intervale Avenue at 167th Street in Longwood.
The fire took an hour and a half to bring under control and gutted the third floor of the three-story brick building.
"We only have a few minutes to get out. The fire alarm was kind of weak, we didn't really hear the alarm," said resident Minh Le. "And the fire was big and things were crashing, that's how we heard. The neighbors knocked too, and it was a big flame. We don't know how it happened, we just got out."
Fire officials say three people were taken to Jacobi Medical Center.
Two firefighters were also taken to the hospital.
Their conditions are all described as stable.
