The body of José Sucuzhañay, 31, arrived in Ecuador Friday night.
His funeral was held Saturday in the city of Cuenca, before a burial in his native town of Taday. A funeral mass was also held for Sucuzhañay in Queens on Wednesday.
Sucuzhañay and his brother were attacked by a group of men while walking in Bushwick on December 7th. Police say the attackers shouted Latino and gay slurs.
Police are still looking for four suspects.
