A Bronx jury in the murder trial of actor Lillo Brancato sent a note to a judge today, saying that they are deadlocked 11 to 1.
In response, the judge re-read instructions on deliberation to the divided jury and advised the jurors to come back at 9:30 a.m. Friday to continue deliberating.
The decision ended a volatile day, as the jury discussed whether the "Bronx Tale" actor will face felony murder charges in the death of off-duty police officer Daniel Enchautegui.
Earlier today, the judge said that a juror deliberating the verdict in the murder trial of actor Lillo Brancato would be excused after typing up notes on the trial at home, conducting external research, and then bringing them into deliberations.
An alternate then took the place of juror number 12.
Prosecutors must prove Brancato and an associate, Steven Armento, were committing a burglary in order to get a felony murder conviction.
Brancato says he and Armento were trying to wake up a friend they did not know had died months earlier.
Armento was convicted of first-degree murder in October.
