Pieces of a rug will be tested for any links to a man considered a person of interest in the disappearance of a Brooklyn woman.
According to State Police, the carpet pieces were found Saturday off State Route 17 near the village of Bloomingburg in upstate Sullivan County.
That's where cops have been searching for signs of 25-year-old Laura Garza, who vanished after leaving a Manhattan nightclub on December 3.
Police said the carpet pieces may have come from the apartment
of 23-year-old Michael Mele, who left the club with Garza and was later seen with her near his Orange County home.
Mele hasn't been charged in Garza's disappearance but is being held on $100,000 bail for an unrelated probation violation.
