The families of the two firefighters killed in the fire at the former Deutsche Bank building reportedly rejected a settlement Thursday.
Firefighters Joseph Graffagnino and Robert Beddia were killed in the August 2007 blaze.
According to published reports, their families were each offered at least a million dollars by the contractor overseeing the building's demolition, Bovis Lend Lease.
The Manhattan District Attorney is reportedly considering the agreement to avoid an indictment against Bovis, which could cause the large employer to collapse during the current economic crisis.
Meanwhile, Graffagnino's family said they were surprised by the offer, and they would turn it down.
