There appears to be major confusion at New York Presbyterian Hospital over the procedure to notify police when they treat patients with gunshot wounds.

Dr. Philip Barie, the hospital's chief of critical care and trauma told the New York Post that he does not know who at the facility is legally responsible for telling the police when they treat a gunshot victim.

The hospital recently suspended Dr. Josyann Abisaab for not reporting Plaxico Burress' gunshot wound as required by state law.

Meanwhile, the NFL Players Association filed a grievance on Burress' behalf. The union claims the Giants violated a collective bargaining agreement by suspending him for the final four games of the regular season and fining him an additional week's salary.
