The NFL Players Association filed a grievance about the suspension of Plaxico Burress Tuesday.

The football players' union claims the Giants violated a collective bargaining agreement when the team suspended Burress for four games and fined him a week's salary.

A spokesman from the union says an arbitrator will hear the grievance at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, as part of his contract with the Giants, Burress should receive a million-dollar signing bonus on Wednesday. The union says another grievance may be filed if the money is not paid.

Burress will have to sit out the playoffs.

The Giants receiver faces weapons possession charges as a result of an incident at a Manhattan night club where police say he accidentally shot himself with an unlicensed gun.

If convicted, Burress could face a prison sentence of three-and-a-half to 15 years.
