Police on Long Island were reviewing surveillance video Saturday to try to identify the people who trampled to death a Wal-Mart worker from Queens Friday.

Jdimytai "Jimmy" Damour, 34, of Queens died during a stampede of some 2,000 Black Friday shoppers at the Wal-Mart in Valley Stream, Long Island.

A spokesman for Nassau County police says while criminal charges are possible, identifying individual shoppers may be difficult.

After hearing the news, Ogera Charles, Damour's father, who lives in Fresh Meadows, said Saturday he hopes some of the shoppers will be held accountable for what happened to his son.

"That's a brutality, people just walking on a human being like that," said Charles. "You don't feel that? You don't feel nothing?"

Police and witnesses say other workers were trampled as they tried to rescue Damour. Customers stepped over the dead man and became angry when officials said the store was closing because of his death.

Police also say a pregnant woman was taken to a hospital for observation.

"Life is better than a bargain, I believe so," said Charles. "A bargain is $40, $50, $100. A human being, forget it."

"It's unbelievable," said family friend Karl Dorcely, who was watching TV news with the bereaved father. "I hope next year they will have a better system to protect those people."

Charles said he does not feel anger, but only sadness that his son's life was cut short.

"He was 34 years. So far he wasn't married yet. He didn’t have any kids. You know, he was a good boy," said Charles.

Damour's family is traveling from Haiti to plan the burial next week.
