The Cathedral of Saint John the Divine is set to be rededicated after a devastating fire.
A ceremony is planned for Sunday at the gothic Episcopal church in Morningside Heights.
The cathedral, billed as the largest in the world, will be open from end to end for the first time since its restoration following the December 2001 fire that damaged several ancient tapestries and its 8,500 pipe organ.
The initial restoration began in 2003. The cathedral's restored nave reopened in July.
