Cooking an entire Thanksgiving dinner is hard enough – but some Washington Heights residents are worried they might have to do it without their stoves.

Elected officials and tenants gathered outside 600 West 196th Street to announce a rent strike against the landlord, who they say hasn't provided the building with gas for seven months.

Some residents say they're resorted to buying electrical cooking equipment to prepare their food.

"It's not fair because we've been paying rent without service," said resident Glenis Curveas.

"That's a shame and it's not fair for us to be suffering, because there's no reason why he's doing this to us," said tenant Mildred Dominguez.

The company that runs the building, Perseus Management, blames the city for not coming out to help restore the gas line.
